View Dates & BookThey say when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Well, when you are given grapes what should you do? What we are doing is offering an awesome replacement itinerary* for the cancelled F.L.X. Summer Fest at Watkins Glen (formerly known as the Finger Lakes Wine Festival).
The first day of your trip begins in Wellsboro PA with a guided tour of the spectacular Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania at Leonard Harrison State Park. The various shops in downtown Wellsboro offer plentiful opportunities to take home a unique trinket or ware to remember your trip. Choose from one of the community's many eating establishments for a divine meal, several of which are regionally sourced. What better way to experience the beauty of the PA Grand Canyon than on a relaxing Covered Wagon Tour through Pine Creek Gorge where there is always a chance to catch sight of wildlife ranging from bear, deer, otters, beaver, ducks, geese, and majestic bald eagles. Top off the day with an unforgettable culinary journey through the heart of Tioga that includes a four-course dinner and culinary demonstration to conclude the evening.
*The updated itinerary for your second day takes you to beautiful Seneca Lake, NY on an exciting Wine Trail. Begin the trail at Glenora Wine Cellars with a guided tasting and cellar tour. Off to Fulkerson Winery to enjoy a wine tasting. Next is a nice break in the day for time to explore downtown Watkins Glen where you can enjoy lunch on your own, visit nearby Clute Park or the stunning Watkins Glen State Park, with it's beautiful waterfalls and trails. There is even time to book yourself a seat on board Captain Bill's Sightseeing Cruise from 2:30 - 3:30 pm if you so wish. Before heading for home, it's back on the wine trail at Magnus Ridge Winery for a wine & cheese pairing and an opportunity to make a final wine related gift purchase as you wander throughout their facility. On your return ride home there will be an extended comfort stop in Downtown Williamsport enroute for dinner on your own.
Day One
Upon arrival in Wellsboro, PA, enjoy a guided tour at the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon Overlook at Leonard Harrison State Park. The panoramic perspective provided by this well-developed State Park area is some of Pennsylvania's most precious scenery. Enjoy some free time to take in the views and colorful fall foliage. Stop by the visitor's center to learn more about the area as well as shop in their gift shop.
Enjoy some free time browsing on Wellboro's Main Street with a coupon booklet that features many of the shops downtown. Enjoy lunch on your own in downtown Wellsboro.
Experience a Covered Wagon Tour through the wondrous Pennsylvania Grand Canyon on a horse-drawn covered wagon. The tour guides are fluent in the history of the Canyon going back to the 19th century. They will tell the tale while the horses wind their way on the Pine Creek Rail Trail. The tour runs rain or shine, please dress appropriately.
Next, kick up your heels! It's time for Line Dancing! Bring your country-western wear if you so choose. Boots too if you have them. It's definitely going to be a fun night out.
Now it's time for A Taste of Tioga. Indulge your senses in an unforgettable journey through the heart of Tioga with this exclusive event. Immerse yourself in the rich flavors and artisanal delights that define this picturesque region, as we present a culinary experience like no other. Tastings might include maple, honey, ice cream, seasonings and spices, beef, cheese, wine, and hard cider. Then the Chef will provide a Four-Course Dinner, featuring a menu that incorporates some of the local products you have already tasted. And this event would not be complete without a Culinary Demonstration to conclude your evening.
After your full day of sightseeing, dancing, and food it is time to check into the Radisson Hotel Corning for your 1 night stay.
Day Two
After check-out and an included Breakfast at the Hotel you are off to Seneca Lake, NY on an exciting Wine Trail.
Begin the trail at Glenora Wine Cellars with a guided tasting and cellar tour. Off to Fulkerson Winery to enjoy a wine tasting.
