Pack your bags and get ready to follow the tulips! Holland, Michigan comes alive each spring with millions of colorful blooms, charming Dutch traditions, beautiful gardens, and waterfront scenery. Spend five wonderful days exploring windmills and tulip fields, cruising the waters aboard the Holland Princess, discovering Holland's picturesque parks and villages, and experiencing the sights, flavors, and traditions that make this destination so special.

 

It's a little bit Dutch, a whole lot beautiful, and one spring getaway you won't want to miss!

 

 

Day One

Depart from Douglassville and head to Ohio for the first stop at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Learn about the history of rock music and the artists, producers, engineers, and other notable figures and personnel who have influenced its development year. Check into the hotel in the evening and enjoy the kickback reception for dinner.

Day Two

After breakfast, first stop is at the Eastwood Towne Center for lunch on your own. Then we will continue to our end destination of Holland, Michigan. The evening will cap off with a group dinner at a local restaurant.

Day Three

After breakfast, we will pick up our Guide and hit all the highlights including History of Holland, Big Red Lighthouse, Windmill Island Gardens drive-by, downtown, stop at Holland Bowl Mill, etc. You'll enjoy lunch on own in downtown Holland. In the afternoon you'll enjoy time at the Windmill Island Gardens. The gardens are home to the last working windmill allowed to leave the Netherlands in 1964. The historic windmill 'de Zwaan' is the highlight of the park and stands amongst 36 acres of exhibits, gardens and natural areas. The mill still turns and grinds grain into flour and a tour up 5 floors is the highlight of any visit to the park.

Enjoy a two-hour cruise aboard Holland's popular attraction, an old-fashioned Victorian-style paddlewheel boat. Complete with the "Captain's Feast," relaxing music, and a cash bar. Menu TBD.

Day Four

After breakfast and checking out of the hotel, arrive at Window on the Waterfront - Featuring walking paths through tulip fields and beds, photo stands, life-size statues in traditional Dutch dress, scenic overlooks, and beautiful open spaces, this 30-acre park is a "must see!

Next up, arrive at Holland State Park - Walk the beach, see where Lake Macatawa empties into Lake Michigan and view Michigan’s most photographed lighthouse, Big Red. You will have time to explore the Veldheer Tulip Gardens and Deklomp Wooden Shoe & Delftware Factory. Veldheer is Holland’s only tulip farm & perennial garden. In 1950 Vern Veldheer started a hobby farm with 100 red tulips and 300 white tulips, today Veldheers plants over 5.5 million tulips for you to walk through and enjoy.! Make sure to visit De Klomp… the Dutch pottery famous around the world; takes almost a full week to produce. They are the only production facility in North America, offering over 400 different hand painted Dutch pottery items. Follow the process of making these fine pottery items; from pouring the liquid clay into molds, to firing the clay at 2,000 degrees. Then talk to the artists as they hand paint Dutch designs and glaze each item for the perfect shine.

Enjoy farewell lunch on your own in the village before departing Holland, MI. Depart for Toledo, OH where there will be a dinner stop along the way to enjoy on your own. Overnight in Holland, Ohio

Day Five

Enjoy included breakfast at the hotel before checking out and departing. Arrive at Phipps Conservatory and Botanic Gardens. Enjoy lunch on own and take a guided Conservatory tour that focuses on their plant collections, history and current flower show. Depart for home in the early afternoon, there will be a comfort stop for dinner on your own. Estimated arrival time in Douglassville before 9:00pm.
